Skykomish to Pass Creek
Day 132 8/23
Mile mark 2476.0
Rest Day in Skykomish
Yet again I forgot to take pictures in town. I spent the day just south of Skykomish at a trails angels house.
Day 131 8/22
Mile mark 2452.8-2476.0
Before Deception Creek to Skykomish
I didn’t get a picture of it, but in this section the mice got really bad. Where I ended up camping, I had mice crawling over me all night. One even scampered across my beard.
Day 130 8/21
Mile mark 11.4-25.8(Goldmyer Alternate Route) and 2438.1-2452.8
Goldmyer Hot Springs Campsite to Before Deception Creek
The alternate trail was tough, but very scenic. Someday I’ll have to return and do the part of the trail I missed.
I almost felt like I was back in the Sierra.
Day 129 8/20
Mile mark 2402.0-11.4(Goldmyer Alternate Route)
Snoqualmie to Goldmyer Hot Springs
Goldmyer hot springs. The road that went to a trailhead near to the springs was closed, so I ended up being the only person there.
The hottest pool was up in the cave, which went back 20 feet or so.
Day 128 8/19
Mile mark 2372.8-2402.0
Tacoma Pass to Snoqualmie
Day 127 8/18
Mile mark 2345.5-2372.8
Martison Gap to Tacoma Pass
No pictures for the day. I was mostly down in the trees.
Day 126 8/17
Mile mark 2320.3-2345.5
Campsite North of Crag Lake to Martison Gap
Day 125 8/16
Mile mark 2303.0-2320.3
White Pass to Campsite North of Crag Lake
I always find it odd that PCT hikers get so mad at mountain bikes on trail, but horses do much more damage to trails(as seen above).
I didn’t take any more pictures as I was pretty out of it from being sick in White Pass. I had thought I was better, but that night I woke up and my stomach was killing me. I tossed and turned for awhile, and eventually sat up hoping that would make the pain stop. As soon as I sat up, my mouth filled with vomit and I had to quickly crawl out of my sleeping bag and tarp. I then crawled for a few feet on my hands and knees through the muddy campsite and puked my brains out for several minutes. I was camped alone and was 17 miles from town, making this a scary experience. Luckily, I felt fine in the morning.
Day 124 8/15
Mile mark 2303.0
Rest Day in White Pass
No pictures for the day. I ended up getting sick and spent most of the day sleeping.
